1. How does suspended animation work?
The surgeons take all of your blood out and put a saline solution in you in place of your blood which basically freezes you. While you are frozen they complete the surgery and then they put your blood back in you and your heart will slowly start back.
2. Do you think this is a safe practice?
I don't think it is safe because it could kill people, but if they could figure out everything and know the exact things to do, then it could help a lot of people.
3. What are other ways doctors could prevent people from dying of traumatic wounds?
There are many surgeries that can fix traumatic wounds but those surgeries are extremely dangerous. With suspended animation it is still very dangerous but they do not have to operate on a beating heart or a live brain .They can freeze you and work on you while you are "dead" and then bring you back to life. Doctors could continue to use the same kind of surgeries they use today to prevent people from dying from traumatic wounds, but suspended animation would be better.
